First Night Alexandria Needs Your Support
Become a Friend of First Night Alexandria to keep this New Year’s Eve celebration of the performing arts alive with excitement!
First Night Alexandria makes hearts sing, hands clap, feet stomp, bodies dance, faces smile, children laugh and spirits soar. With more stages and entertainers than ever before, continuous performances from early in the evening ‘till fireworks at midnight – there is something for everyone to enjoy.
Ever wonder how this fabulous extravaganza of performing artists comes together each year? Ever wonder how it is financed? Contrary to what many think, First Night Alexandria is a not-for-profit organization. While the City of Alexandria provides tremendous support, the event is NOT financed by the city. First Night Alexandria operates on a budget completely dependent on the generous sponsorship of companies, organizations, and individuals like YOU to help the show go on.
Consider…
- First Night Alexandria must compensate performers for New Year’s Eve – and those costs exceed $60,000!
- The sale of admission badges covers less than half of First Night expenses.
- The City of Alexandria is a generous supporter of First Night, but most operating costs must be covered through community support.
- First Night’s "Talented Teen" venue provides a positive, safe alternative for young attendees to celebrate the New Year without drugs or alcohol – and it is totally supported by private donations and admission badge sales.
How You Can Help
