New York may drop one ball at midnight but in Alexandria we're dropping 6,000! The grand finale will end with 6,000 balls dropping on the lawn of the George Washington Masonic Memorial. Be sure to collect some balls and post your photo with your First Night Alexandria badge and souvenir balls on the First Night Alexandria Facebook page. Your photo could win you a prize!

If you're not a scavenger hunt person but want to participate in a fun, art activity for all ages and skill levels, visit the Torpedo Factory Art Center, 105 N Union St. You can make a button, mask or crown to wear to the best parties all night! Artists Lisa Schumaier and Dawn Benedetto and their elves will be there to assist! This is a free event.
Follow George Washington's steps through the streets of Old Town and solve clues in this fun, family activity. This is not a timed event! Clue sheets are available at 1:00 pm at the Durant Arts Center, 1605 Cameron Street. Return completed clue sheets by 4:45 pm to be eligible for prizes.

Curtis Blues is a musical preservationist of acoustic Mississippi Delta blues from the 1920's to the 1940's. He performs as a one man band, playing drums, guitar and harmonica together. His shows are interactive and educational for all ages. Curtis delights audiences by bringing instruments like a cigar box guitar into the audience to see and hear up close, bringing the history of music alive.
