Event Details

First Night Alexandria is the largest, safest, family-friendly, budget-friendly New Year’s Eve celebration in the Greater Washington Metropolitan area. On December 31, festivities will kick off with an afternoon Fun Hunt at 2:30 PM. First prize includes $500! The night then comes alive as Alexandria hosts 25 indoor venues with multiple stages featuring performances from 7:00 pm until 11:30 pm. And just before the year ends, the ever popular College of William and Mary “Stairwells” will take to the George Washington Masonic Memorial steps, setting the perfect tone to ring in 2010 with spectacular fireworks at midnight. Everything takes place this year within four Old Town “Spotlight” areas. Attendees can Metro, or drive and park, walking among venues and the fabulous surrounding restaurants.

One badge will provide adult admission to all event venues and can be purchased online through December 23 for just $15. Badges can also be purchased for $20 at retail locations throughout Alexandria, and on New Year’s Eve at select First Night Alexandria venues. Children 12 and under, and active military, are free.
