Fun Hunt
FIRST NIGHT ALEXANDRIA FUN HUNT
The Third Annual Fun Hunt (a scavenger hunt) will kick off at 1:00 pm on December 31, 2011.
Clue sheets can be picked up at that time at the Durant Arts Center, 1605 Cameron Street.
You will be following in the steps of George Washington as you solve clues and historical plaques and buildings.
Be sure to return to the Durant Arts Center by 4:45 in order to be eligible for three grand prizes. This is NOT a timed event! Winners must be present to claim their prize.
Here is how it works:
The Fun Hunt will last from 1:00 to 4:30 pm
This is NOT a timed event. The clues will lead you to locations where you must find a piece of information that you will write on the clue sheet. All clues can be found outside; you don’t have to go into any buildings to find the answers. The spaces on the clue sheet under each clue represent a letter that you must fill in.
Everyone that correctly completes the Hunt requirements will be eligible for the prizes. It should take between 60 and 90 minutes to complete the Hunt with no stops. However, we encourage you to stop at the many fine eateries along the way and enjoy lunch, grab a bottle of water or a bio break while you strategize.

Between 4:30 and 4:45 pm all completed Fun Hunt forms must be turned in at the Durant Arts Center, 1605 Cameron Street in Alexandria. A drawing of the completed Fun Hunt forms for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes will occur at the Durant Arts Center promptly at 5:00 pm during the kickoff of First Night Alexandria.
Winners must be present to win and claim their prize.
To be eligible to win one of the three prizes, the following must be provided by each Fun Hunt participant or team:
- A completed Fun Hunt form which includes the name of the participant or “team Captain”.
- Correct answers to all of the clues.
- At least one 2011 First Night Alexandria admission badge for each entry. Please note that the 2011 First Night Alexandria badge may be obtained at the Durant Arts Center, if you have not purchased it already.
It is recommended that the participants form teams. Although the teams can be any size, it is recommended that you should consider a maximum of six (6) per team.
