Special thanks go out to Keira Moran and her father, Jim Moran. They are the brains and sweat behind the Battle of the Local Stars. This was their final year of organizing this event.
Huge thanks also go out to Keira. She performed brilliantly with the TC Williams orchestra. Keira wrote the music for each instrument that accompanied her. Great job everyone. Thank you!
Born and raised in Alexandria VA, Keira Moran first made her musical mark when she won the 2011 International Smashtune Songwriting Contest with her song “When I’m With You.” The grand prize was a trip to Hawaii where Keira was a finalist in the Kauai Music Festival’s Songwriting Contest. Later that year, her debut album “Wondergirl” was released on iTunes, which includes pop/rock songs recorded in Nashville and the D.C. area. Keira was subsequently voted “Favorite Part of First Night Alexandria,” awarded the Miss Nova Music Award for embodying “the spirit of music and community service,” and won the “18 in America” Songwriting Contest (Gannett/WUSA9). Seven-time Grammy nominee Graham Edwards said that Keira is “an exciting musical talent. I look forward to seeing her career blossom both as a songwriter and an artist.”
Keira recently moved to Los Angeles, California where she is writing for record label “Brown Shuga Music.” She is also working alongside songwriter/producer RedOne who has a staggering eight Grammy nominations and two wins for his work with Lady Gaga. His newest single “Boom Boom” was released October 27th of this year. See what else Keira is up to at www.KeiraMoran.com
